ABOUT

Hi, I'm Amanda, owner and teacher at Root and Grow Yoga! I'm an engineer by trade, but yoga is my passion.

I began practicing yoga on and off when I started college in 2012. It took me awhile to find my practice, but I began practicing consistently around 2017. Through my practice, I learned to find peace, fulfillment, and joy within myself, and I began to see the world in a brighter light that I wanted to share with others.

I completed my first 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in vinyasa yoga in September of 2020. In March 2022, I completed a second 200 hour training focused on hot 26&2 yoga. I still teach mainly vinyasa style yoga, but my background in different traditions gives me a fresh perspective on many physical asanas, as well as a stronger and more varied philosophical background.

I love teaching classes in a studio setting because yoga helps foster incredible relationships and beautiful communities, but there is something magical to me about one-on-one instruction! When I work with you in a private lesson, it lets me focus all my attention on providing the support you need in the moment - whether that's verbal cues, hands on assists, or just encouragement.

I hope you'll allow me the privilege of guiding you for part of your yoga journey. I can't wait to get started!
